Taylor Swift<\/a> can come back anytime she likes to record at Marcus Mumford\u2019s home studio, with the Mumford & Sons<\/a> bandleader revealing that the pop superstar was an ideal guest when she recorded parts of Evermore there a few years ago.<\/p>\n In a clip from his recent appearance on the Table Manners podcast, Mumford recalled how his pal and frequent Swift collaborator Aaron Dessner arranged for the Eras Tour headliner to use the personal recording space Mumford has at the home in England he shares with wife actress Carey Mulligan. \u201cAaron called me and said, \u2018I\u2019ve got someone I\u2019m working with that needs a studio in the U.K.,’\u201d Mumford began.<\/p>\n More from Billboard<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cAnd I was like, \u2018Cool. Well, if it\u2019s one of your homies, then I\u2019m sure it\u2019ll be fine,’\u201d Mumford continued. \u201c\u2018Like, what is it? Beyonc\u00e9 or something?\u2019 He was looking for a discreet studio in London. I was like, \u2018I don\u2019t think there really are any.\u2019 And he was like, \u2018Can they come and use yours?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n The folk-rock musician was surprised to learn that the artist Dessner was talking about was none other than the biggest pop star on the planet. \u201cShe came down right at the end of COVID, and was the most phenomenal houseguest,\u201d Mumford said. \u201cBurned a lot of vegetables for her. And she brought a killer candle. Her candle game was excellent.\u201d<\/p>\n During her time there, Swift would finish the second half of Evermore, according to Mumford. \u201cAnd then she asked me to sing on one [of the songs] and I said yes,\u201d he added, referring to fan-favorite \u201cCowboy Like Me.\u201d<\/p>\n The album would go on to debut atop the Billboard 200<\/a> in December 2020, remaining in the No. 1 spot for four weeks. Years later, the 14-time Grammy winner would bring Mumford up<\/a> on stage at one of her Eras Tour shows to perform \u201cCowboy Like Me\u201d in front of tens of thousands of fans.<\/p>\n Mumford is now gearing up to release his band\u2019s next album, Prizefighter.
