Beloved actor Chadwick Boseman is set to receive a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.<\/p>\n
In 2020, Boseman passed away at 43, following a private battle with colon cancer.<\/p>\n
\u201cBlack Panther\u201d director Ryan Coogler and actress Viola Davis, who starred alongside Boseman in \u201cMa Rainey\u2019s Black Bottom\u201d are set to speak at the event, which will take place on Nov. 20. His widow, \u00a0Simone Ledward-Boseman, will accept the award on his behalf.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is deeply honored to celebrate Chadwick Boseman\u2019s extraordinary legacy with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame,\u201d Ana Martinez, Hollywood Walk of Fame producer, said in a statement obtained by Billboard<\/a>. \u201cHis powerful performances and enduring impact both on and off screen continue to inspire generations around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n Boseman\u2019s breakthrough role came in 2013\u2019s \u201c42,\u201d playing baseball legend Jackie Robinson.<\/p>\n However, it was his role as T\u2019Challa, the King of Wakanda, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe\u2019s \u201cBlack Panther\u201d that helped him reach international fame. He played the role from 2016 to 2019.<\/p>\n His final movie films were \u201cDa 5 Bloods\u201d and \u201cMa Rainey\u2019s Black Bottom,\u201d which earned him a Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Actor. The movie then earned him a posthumous Oscar nomination in the same category.<\/p>\n Boseman\u2019s star will be located at 6904 Hollywood Blvd., in front of the Hollywood Experience.
