EXCLUSIVE<\/strong>: In the wake of John Grisham\u2019s USA Network series The Rainmaker<\/em>, and the upcoming Universal feature The Partner <\/em>directed by Jason Bateman, Prime Video is developing another adaptation from the Mississippi lawyer-turned author, this time a series based on his 2022 bestseller, The Boys From Biloxi.<\/em><\/p>\n Patrick Macmanus, the co-creator of Hulu\u2019s The Girl From Plainville, <\/em>is executive producing, adapting, and showrunning The Boys From Biloxi <\/em>under his Littleton Road Productions label. UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, is the studio behind the series.<\/p>\n More from Deadline<\/strong><\/p>\n The Boys From Biloxi<\/em>\u00a0is a high-stakes family crime drama centered on two childhood best friends \u2013 one a prosecutor, the other a mob heir \u2013 who are forced onto a violent collision course by the sins of their fathers and for the soul of their city.<\/p>\n Non-writing EPs include Jenna Bush Hager and Ben Spector for Thousand Voices, as well as Grisham and David Gernert.<\/p>\n Macmanus\u2019 credits include creating Peacock\u2019s Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy<\/em>. He was an EP on Peacock\u2019s Dr. Death, <\/em>an EP on Netflix\u2019s Marco Polo, <\/em>and an EP on the Christopher Meloni series, Happy! <\/em><\/p>\n Grisham\u2019s The Rainmaker<\/em>, was recently renewed for a second season to premiere in 2026.<\/a> The series from Lionsgate Television and Blumhouse Television has averaged 1.3M total viewers. The season finale was\u00a0the most-viewed episode of the season on USA Network. In total cross-platform viewership of the season to date,\u00a0The Rainmaker<\/em>\u00a0is USA\u2019s most-viewed freshman series in seven years, according to the network.<\/p>\n Separately at Universal Motion Picture Group, Bateman is readying his third feature directing gig with Grisham\u2019s The Partner.<\/em><\/a> Bateman is executive producing under his Aggregate Films, with partner Michael Costigan producing. Tom Holland will produce The Partner <\/em>and is planning to star.<\/p>\n Grisham\u00a0is repped by The Gernert Company. Macmanus is repped by UTA and Game Plan Media.
