Cynthia Erivo Protects Ariana Grande After Fan Jumps Barricade at ‘Wicked’ Premiere<\/p>\n
Cynthia Erivo<\/strong><\/a> is <\/span>Ariana Grande<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s friend for good, and will protect her from the bad.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Case in point, the Tony winner went into bodyguard mode at the <\/span>Wicked: For Good<\/span><\/a> premiere in Singapore when the \u201ceternal sunshine\u201d singer was accosted by a fan.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In videos<\/a> shared<\/a> across social media, Ariana walked arm-in-arm with Cynthia, as well as fellow <\/span>Wicked<\/span> costar <\/span>Michelle Yeoh<\/strong> down a line of fans, with barricades on both sides. After the 32-year-old blew kisses to a fan on her right, another young man jumped the barricade on her left side and ran up and wrapped his arm around her, jumping up and down.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Cynthia quickly stepped in and tore the individual off of her pal, as bodyguards who surrounded the women took the young man away, and Cynthia and Michelle focused on comforting Ariana. The Grammy winner recovered as Cynthia kept her arm wrapped around her, and continued walking down the yellow carpet.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Later, the fan, who goes by<\/span> <\/strong>Pyjama Man<\/strong> <\/span>on his social media, confirmed his identity as Ariana\u2019s attacker, sharing in a Nov. 13 Instagram Story<\/a>, \u201cI am free after being arrested.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
