The civil complaint alleges that attorneys Michael Hackard, Brian Geremia, and their firm Hackard Law allegedly &#8220;filed false and frivolous claims&#8221; against Angus&#8217; estate, &#8220;generating attorney\u2019s fees and extracting settlement,&#8221; causing &#8220;emotional distress, including anxiety, depression, sleeplessness, panic attacks, and prolonged grief.&#8221; Lisa claimed she has been forced to spend more than $64,000 in legal fees defending the estate of her only child, whose assets totaled around $50,000.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;This case is about accountability and fairness,&#8221; Lisa told <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/angus-cloud-mother-sues-over-late-euphoria-star-estate-exclusive-11846096\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:PEOPLE;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">PEOPLE<\/a> exclusively. &#8220;My goal has always been to protect my son&#8217;s legacy and the integrity of his estate from wrongful legal actions that caused unnecessary harm and distress&#8230; I have a great respect for the court system and for the many honest attorneys who work with compassion and integrity. I simply believe no family should have to endure this kind of abuse of process after losing a loved one. She also claims Kim was banned from Angus&#8217; entourage after a public altercation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;Geremia and his partners agreed to represent Mr. Kim who had no evidence to support he was employed by decedent and no investigation as to whether his claim was supported by law and evidence,&#8221;\u00a0Lisa claimed in a letter to the judge in March. &#8220;He also submitted false evidence to show this client was entitled to commissions of $195,000 by verbal agreement.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Kim&#8217;s original demand for the money\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/angus-cloud-mom-shuts-down-6-figure-demand-from-late-euphoria-star-assistant-11733129\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:was rejected in February 2024;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">was rejected in February 2024<\/a>, as was his following civil suit later that year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The lawsuit also claimed that Kim&#8217;s firm &#8220;breached confidentiality&#8221; by sharing a private letter Lisa had sent to the attorneys.
