Prince William
\nbacks football any way he can<\/a>, and if it means lending his
\nsupport to getting an access road made in Cornwall, not only will
\nhe do it, he\u2019ll also visit the football club to officially open
\nit.<\/p>\n

The Duke of Cornwall, as William is known within his duchy, paid
\na visit to the Mousehole AFC<\/a> field to view the
\nnew access road and officially open it, after a summer of
\nconstruction championed by the future king.<\/p>\n

Prince William
\nis said to have read a newspaper article about Mousehole AFC\u2019s
\nstanding in the league despite the bad access to their field\u2014which
\nwas narrow and covered in potholes, which made traffic a nightmare
\nin addition to damaging vehicles and prohibiting players, teams and
\nspectators from getting to the field easily.<\/h5>\n

The future king then threw his support behind Mousehole FC and
\ninitiated a consortium of businesses to create a new access road to
\nthe field. All eight businesses were represented during Prince
\nWilliam\u2019s visit, and all of them donated their services at no cost
\nto the football club.<\/p>\n

William was overheard thanking the businesses for doing the
\nwork, which lasted four weeks over the summer, telling them that he
\nappreciates \u201cwhat you have done for the club and the
\ncommunity,\u201d<\/em> and that \u201cby working together it got
\ndone.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

On the Kensington Palace social media accounts, Prince William
\nwrote: \u201cMaintaining vital community facilities such as roads is
\nan essential element of supporting local life \u2013 helping football
\nclubs like Mousehole continue to thrive, connecting people and
\nsupporting the next generation into football at the
\ngrassroots.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

During his visit, Prince William also met with players, coaches,
\nand volunteers who play with and support Mousehole AFC, including
\nthe Under-10s, who were all very eager to get a photo with the
\nroyal. He toured the facilities and learned that attendance has
\nalready increased with the new access road.<\/p>\n

The future king also shared a personal message: \u201cThank you
\nto everyone in Mousehole for an incredible visit today and to all
\nthose who made the new road to this football club possible. You are
\na shining example of what can happen when people and businesses
\ncome together to create a team to help a community. W\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
