FKA twigs \u2013 <\/b>EUSEXUA Afterglow<\/i><\/b><\/h4>\n

FKA twigs<\/span><\/a> released one of the year\u2019s first truly great albums when she dropped <\/span>EUSEXUA<\/span><\/i><\/a> in January. It was her first LP in six years, where she wrote sophisticated lyrics about common life situations and propped them on a stage of innovative beats and dance music. Riding on the record\u2019s success, twigs planned a deluxe edition. However, after recording a number of hit-worthy singles to be included on the expanded version, she decided to release an entirely new album. What fans are receiving from the artist today is akin to that euphoric feeling that lingers for days after a beautiful experience: the afterglow.<\/span><\/p>\n

EUSEXUA Afterglow<\/span><\/i> really captures that mind-opening \u201cnext day\u201d feeling. It feels like twigs\u2019 is heading back from the clubs, maybe a hair tired from grooving and partaking in lighthearted hedonism, making these songs a bit more giddy than standard pop tracks.<\/span><\/p>\n

Afterglow <\/span><\/i>often draws on techno\u2019s heartbeat but twists it into fractured, playful shapes. There is much fun to be had here, especially when PinkPantheress joins for the song \u201cWild and Alone.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The sophistication drops a little bit from the OG <\/span>EUSEXUA<\/span><\/i>, but it doesn\u2019t really need to be here. If this is the fun, carefree day after, then there is no need for anything too complex to pop up. That makes <\/span>Afterglow <\/span><\/i>an easy listen from a very likable artist.<\/span><\/p>\n
