The reissue includes a special featurette with footage from the \u201cLabyrinth Experience & Masked Ball,\u201d a cosplay event in the U.K. that was held in October.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cThe magical combination of Jim Henson, George Lucas, David Bowie, Jennifer Connelly and hundreds of extraordinary creatures and puppets from Jim Henson\u2019s Creature Shop made \u2018Labyrinth\u2019 a landmark fantasy classic, one that is beloved by Fathom Entertainment audiences over the years,\u201d said Ray Nutt, chief executive officer at Fathom Entertainment, in a statement. \u201cWe are honored to bring this 1986 epic back to theaters from Sony Pictures for its 40th anniversary in this special presentation and provide a brilliant night at the movies for audiences of all ages.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tReleased in June 1986, \u201cLabyrinth\u201d saw puppeteer Jim Henson and designer Brian Froud crafting their follow-up to the 1982 adventure film \u201cThe Dark Crystal,\u201d working in a similarly fantastical, more mature tone. The film starred Connelly as a young teenager tasked with rescuing her baby brother from Jareth, a big-haired, show-stopping Goblin King played by Bowie. It was Henson\u2019s final directed feature.
