Megadeth<\/a> have unveiled the song \u201cI Don\u2019t Care\u201d as the second single from the legendary thrash band\u2019s upcoming final album, a self-titled effort set to arrive on January 23rd.<\/p>\n \u201cHow many times have you wanted to say this to someone?,\u201d stated frontman Dave Mustaine of the song in a press release. \u201cI know you want to! Deep down inside, if we had the balls, we would tell more people, \u2018I don\u2019t care\u2019 more often.\u201d<\/p>\n Get Megadeth Tickets Here<\/a><\/p>\n Mustaine also revealed that the genesis of the song began during the sessions for Megadeth\u2019s previous album, 2022\u2019s The Sick, The Dying\u2026 And The Dead!<\/em>, noting, \u201cPart of the main riff in this track had been floating around in my head since we did TSTD&TD<\/em>, so I was pumped to start recording \u2018I Don\u2019t Care\u2019 for this LP.\u201d<\/p>\n Related Video<\/p>\n He added, \u201cI really love the guitar nuances in the track. There is the main rhythm riff, next, a very deliberate down-picking part, next, the octave chords with jump picking on octave notes (while still down-picking!). And the soloing and back and forth between me and Teemu [M\u00e4ntysaari] is magnificent!!\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI Don\u2019t Care\u201d follows the album\u2019s first single, \u201cTipping Point,\u201d<\/a> which arrived last month. Fans can also look forward to the album\u2019s inclusion of a new version of Metallica\u2019s \u201cRide the Lightning,<\/a>\u201d which Mustaine co-wrote when he was still a member of the metal titans back in the day.<\/p>\n In addition to releasing their final album, Megadeth are set to embark on their farewell tour beginning in 2026, although Mustaine recently said the outing may last up to five years.
