THE RUNDOWN<\/strong><\/p>\n Selena Gomez sat down with Apple Music\u2019s Zane Lowe<\/a> and reflected on the 10-year anniversary of her album Revival and her Rare Impact Fund<\/a>. During the 28-minute discussion, the singer also touched on life as a newlywed with Benny Blanco<\/a> and her complicated feelings about the prospect of going on tour again.<\/p>\n Lowe congratulated the singer on her marriage, noting that life really does keep getting better in the months and years after you find your person. \u201cI definitely can agree to that,\u201d Gomez said, adding that being married to Blanco \u201chas been such a dream so far, and I know it will come with ebbs and flows, but it\u2019s the most beautiful person I could do that with.\u201d<\/p>\n Lowe later asked her whether she\u2019d perform live again and if there\u2019s anything she misses about touring. <\/p>\n \u201cI think the only thing I genuinely miss is probably the interaction,\u201d she said. \u201cI don\u2019t know about ever performing. And I\u2019m not going to say I would never again, because who knows? And I\u2019m always saying I\u2019ll never, and then I\u2019m back. So I\u2019m fully aware of my tendencies. But I do feel the connection is so strong when I\u2019m onstage, and I can actually feel the power of what my music stands for.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t know about awards shows or any sort of shows,\u201d she added, reflecting on where she\u2019d be willing to sing again. \u201cThat\u2019s always very too vulnerable. It\u2019s also just…not everyone\u2019s there to support what you are doing. There\u2019s a different feeling when you’re onstage, and everyone\u2014\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s very performative,\u201d Lowe offered.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is,\u201d Gomez agreed. \u201cAnd sometimes I\u2019m not good at that. I can act-ish, but I\u2019m also not good at faking when I\u2019m onstage. I think I did one performance where I thought I looked like a pop star, and I remember thinking, \u2018Actually all of that looks so awkward because it couldn\u2019t have been the opposite of who I am.\u2019 But it is, it\u2019s performative, and I\u2019m not sure that\u2019s something I\u2019m willing to entertain again. However, the idea of doing, I don\u2019t know, an acoustic set or some sort of soft version, I would love to do that. I miss being with fans for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n Lowe observed that Gomez has been \u201cworking really hard throughout a lot of your young adult and adult life to shed that skin of being a \u2018pop star.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Gomez confirmed she had, saying, \u201cI think I just maybe got a little tired of that. And I think what I get so much out of film and TV, or any sort of performative creativity that isn\u2019t music actually, it is another feeling that I can\u2019t really explain other than I connect with a character. I connect with the character\u2019s pain, or I connect with the character\u2019s joy or relationships, and with mothers and fathers. And all of that\u2019s so interesting to me, and I can dive into somebody else\u2019s world. But when you put yourself out there, and it\u2019s just you, it can be a bit more frightening.
