NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WHNT) \u2013 Many iconic stars make up the 158 inductees into the Country Music Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n
When many people think of country music, they think of Nashville \u2013 or the Music City \u2013 and artists like Hank Williams, Tammy Wynette, and the Louvin Brothers, just to name a few.<\/p>\n
So, what do all of these artists have in common? They\u2019re from the great state of Alabama!<\/p>\n
Multiple musicians from the State of Alabama are honored in the Country Music Hall of Fame, including:<\/p>\n
\u201cCountry music is, it\u2019s an art, right? And art can be made anywhere,\u201d RJ Smith, a historian and curator for the Country Music Hall of Fame, said.<\/p>\n
Some of the earliest and most iconic forms of that art came out of Central Alabama:<\/p>\n
\u201cHank Williams, he\u2019s ground zero. He\u2019s an icon and a great songwriter. This place probably wouldn\u2019t exist without Hank Williams. Country music as we know it would exist,\u201d Smith said.<\/p>\n
Wynette grew up in Red Bay, and later claimed her title as the first lady of country music after hits like \u201cStand by Your Man\u201d and \u201cGood Girls Gonna Go Bad.\u201c<\/p>\n
There are even four boys from Fort Payne who made quite a name for themselves, and are now sitting in the hall of fame.<\/p>\n
The band Alabama and its three original members \u2014 Randy Owen, Teddy Gentry and Jeff Cook \u2014 are all from Fort Payne. But their mark on country music extends far outside their home state.<\/p>\n
Country music is something that has lived through generations to inspire the next generations of musicians to come.<\/p>\n
Music fans can catch the exhibit, \u201cMuscle Shoals: Low Rhythm Rising,\u201d at the Country Music Hall of Fame until March 2028.<\/p>\n
