Are you ready, kids (and grownups)? It\u2019s time to revisit Bikini Bottom and its underwater inhabitants with the first trailer The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants.<\/p>\n

Long ago, we\u2019re told, one sailor fell under a wicked curse. The only way to lift this curse is to find the world\u2019s most innocent soul. You have one guess as to his identity. Check out the trailer above and photos and the key art poster below.<\/p>\n

Desperate to be a big guy,\u00a0SpongeBob sets out to prove his bravery to Mr. Krabs by following The Flying Dutchman \u2013 a mysterious swashbuckling ghost pirate \u2013 on a seafaring comedy-adventure that takes him to the deepest depths of the deep sea, where no Sponge has gone before.<\/p>\n

Tom Kenny is back as the voice of the 21st century\u2019s most popular toon character, as are the usual SpongeBob SquarePants suspects: Clancy Brown as Mr. Krabs, Rodger Bumpass as Squidward, Bill Fagerbakke as Patrick Star, Carolyn Lawrence as Sandy and Mr. Lawrence as Plankton. Also along for the swim are George Lopez, Isis \u201cIce Spice\u201d Gaston, Arturo Castro and Sherry Cola with Regina Hall and Mark Hamill.<\/p>\n

This marks the first SpongeBob directorial outing for Derek Drymon, who has written for more than 275 episodes of the Nickelodeon toon series since its 1999 debut. It\u2019s the fourth big-screen outing for the entire Bikini Bottom gang, following The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run (2021), The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water (2015), The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie (2004). There also have been two spinoffs that streamed on Netflix: 2024\u2019s Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie<\/a> and this year\u2019s Netflix pic Plankton: The Movie<\/a>.<\/p>\n
