Teddi Mellencamp<\/a> has good reason to hope for the best these days and it\u2019s because of what her recent cancer scans have shown. <\/p>\n This comes after doctors diagnosed her with stage 4 melanoma<\/a> following several tumors that were discovered in her brain and lungs. <\/p>\n However, Mellencamp, who is the daugher of rock legend John Mellencamp, has always been open and honest about the highs and lows of her battle with cancer. <\/p>\n Fortunately, her latest scans took her for a complete surprise and it\u2019s allowing her to picture brighter days ahead. <\/p>\n On the October 3 episode of her podcast, \u201cTwo T\u2019s in a Pod,\u201d Mellencamp first shared an update sharing that her latest scans showed \u201cno detectable cancer.\u201d <\/p>\n Needless to say, the news seemed as if it was a huge weight lifted from her shoulders. <\/p>\n \u201cWhen they told me, I was in such shock. I was like numb,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n Mellencamp even spoke to Radar Online<\/a> recently, and though she felt grateful, the battle to beat the disease is far from over. <\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m still going to be having days when I\u2019m feeling sick and stuff because I still am in immunotherapy,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n She will also continue treatment for another year but she\u2019s not in remission yet. <\/p>\n \u201cThe way the doctors said it works, it\u2019s like one year, then two years, then at three years you\u2019re allowed to be considered in remission.\u201d<\/p>\n The reality star also took to her Instagram Story and opened up about her everyday struggle. <\/p>\n \u201cSome days are definitely better than others,\u201d she shared. \u201cAnd you don\u2019t see all the times I\u2019m laying in bed unable to do much.\u201d<\/p>\n She also detailed how she\u2019s learning to rest without guilt, while taking her well-known podcast \u201cweek by week.\u201d <\/p>\n Mellencamp also took the time to recognize her famous father for his support throughout her recovery. <\/p>\n On Oct. 24, she posted a photo of him together with her daughters on Instagram. <\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s been 10 months since my brain surgery and I am so grateful for @johnmellencamp for continuously being there for me and my family the entire time,\u201d she captioned. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n If you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.
