After marking 25 years of their professional relationship last year, Sofia Coppola<\/a> and Kirsten Dunst<\/a> are about due for another collaboration.<\/p>\n The Oscar-winning writer and director revealed that she and the Virgin Suicides<\/a> (1999) star have been \u201ctalking about\u201d reuniting on another film nearly 10 years after their last team-up on 2017\u2019s The Beguiled.<\/p>\n More from Deadline<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cI have so many\u2014original ideas, adaptations. I\u2019m kind of all over the place,\u201d Coppola told Vanity Fair<\/a>. \u201cKirsten and I were talking about doing something, but I just kind of put everything on pause. I really want to do something with Kirsten, and there was one thing we were thinking of and figuring out. I would love to get back to making a film again.\u201d<\/p>\n Following their work on Coppola\u2019s feature directorial debut The Virgin Suicides, Dunst starred in the director\u2019s Marie Antoinette (2006) and The Beguiled, in addition to making a cameo as herself in The Bling Ring (2013).<\/p>\n Dunst previously reminisced about her work<\/a> on The Virgin Suicides, sharing her continued praise for Coppola with Deadline. \u201cI really think working with Sofia at such a young age, at 16, gave me the feeling that I was beautiful. I looked up to her so much,\u201d she said in 2021.<\/p>\n \u201cI thought she was\u2014and I still do\u2014just the coolest girl,\u201d added Dunst. \u201cShe was the queen bee, an older sister to me, so the fact that she thought I was pretty, or cool\u2014getting that validation from a woman you think is the coolest means you don\u2019t need it from male directors. You know what I\u2019m trying to say\u2014it\u2019s like, I didn\u2019t have to be looked at through the male gaze to feel like, \u2018I\u2019m sexy.\u2019 Sofia made me feel that way. My coming-of-age film, when people first saw me differently, was The Virgin Suicides.
