{"id":2159178,"date":"2025-11-15T21:19:44","date_gmt":"2025-11-15T21:19:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/?p=2159178"},"modified":"2025-11-15T21:19:44","modified_gmt":"2025-11-15T21:19:44","slug":"search-under-way-for-missing-uk-naval-crew-member","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/search-under-way-for-missing-uk-naval-crew-member\/","title":{"rendered":"Search under way for missing UK naval crew member"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div data-component=\"text-block\">\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">A multi-agency search is under way off the coast of the Republic of Ireland for a missing Royal Navy crew member.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">The Irish Department of Transport (DoT) said in a statement that the crew member was last seen at about 22:30 (local time) on Friday when the boat was near Tory Island, County Donegal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">It said the Irish Coast Guard received a distress call at about 09:00 on Saturday. <\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">The Ministry of Defence (MoD) said the Royal Navy is assisting in the search and rescue operation to find an individual from the Royal Fleet Auxiliary.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-component=\"text-block\">\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">The Irish Coast Guard, the Irish Air Corps, the RNLI, the Royal Navy vessel and others are involved in the search which is to continue overnight.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">A spokesperson for the DoT said the Malin Head Coast Guard is co-ordinating the search off the northwest coast between Tory Island and Eagle Island in County Mayo.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">&#8220;The search from the air is being conducted by the Coast Guard&#8217;s fixed-wing plane Rescue 120F, based in Shannon airport; Coast Guard helicopter Rescue 118, based in Sligo; and the Irish Air Corps plane, CASA 284,&#8221; they continued.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">The Royal Navy support vessel and three RNLI all weather lifeboats based at Ballyglass, Arranmore Island and Lough Swilly, alongside other vessels are also involved in the sea search.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><em> \u2018 The preceding article may include information circulated by third parties \u2019 <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em> \u2018 Some details of this article were extracted from the following source www.bbc.com \u2019 <\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A multi-agency search is under way off the coast of the Republic of Ireland for a missing Royal Navy crew member.
