BERWICK, COLUMBIA COUNTY (WBRE\/WYOU) \u2014 <\/strong>Berwick has reason to celebrate the arts and entertainment, as Berwick Theater hosted an event on Saturday called \u201cSpotlight on Berwick.\u201d The theater and Berwick Arts Association, along with e-commerce giant Amazon, teamed up for the celebration.<\/p>\n

It featured, among other things, balloon animals for kids, free popcorn, and free movie screenings.<\/p>\n

The venue was revived last year after dealing with roof problems in the past.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople have a lot to choose from, and we want to make sure that they know that we are here and can be one of their good choices,\u201d Executive Director of Berwick Theatre & Center For Community Arts, John Theillon, told 28\/22 News.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt brings the whole community together, which is always a good thing. It\u2019s been really fun. My daughter and the kids had fun,\u201d Berwick resident Misty Welsh said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were here for face painting, and balloons, and STEM activities. We just had a great day here,\u201d Becky Raup from Danville explained.<\/p>\n

The event also served as a way to acknowledge Amazon, which donated $20,000 to Berwick Theater and $20,000 to Berwick Arts Association.<\/p>\n
