Dan McGrath<\/a>, an Emmy-winning writer for \u201cThe Simpsons<\/a>\u201d who wrote the classic Season 8 episode \u201cHomer\u2019s Phobia,\u201d died on Nov. 14. He was 61.<\/p>\n

His sister, Gail McGrath Garabadian, confirmed his death in a Facebook<\/a> post early Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe lost my incredible brother Danny yesterday,\u201d she wrote. \u201cHe was a special man, one of a kind. An incredible son, brother, uncle and friend. Our hearts are broken.\u201d<\/p>\n

McGrath wrote 50 episodes of \u201cThe Simpsons<\/a>\u201d from 1992 to 1994 and produced 24 episodes from 1996 to 1998. He won an Emmy for his work on the series in 1997, taking home the honor for outstanding animated program for \u201cHomer\u2019s Phobia.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
