The Adirondack Thunder<\/a> looked to complete the home-and-home series sweep on Saturday vs the Reading Royals<\/a> after a win on Friday Night<\/a>. Head Coach Sylvain Cloutier made two lineup changes for Saturday\u2019s game, as Tyler Brennan got the start. The other change came as a surprise, with Kishaun Gervais being a healthy scratch for the Thunder. Gervais has one goal in nine games, along with 36 PIMs on the season. He also leads the league with four fights. <\/p>\n Reading would get on the board first after a scramble in front of the net as Cam Cook found the loose puck and netted his second of the season. Adirondack responded on their first PP as Tyler Brennan sprung Brannon McManus, who netted his team-leading sixth of the season just 2:21 after the Reading goal. The Thunder now have a PP goal in each of their last three games. For Brennan, that\u2019s his third career assist as he had two during his rookie season. The Royals would respond with two quick goals as Brandon Saigeon and Alec Butcher scored less than two minutes apart. Miles Gendron, who was playing in his first game of the 2025-26 season after signing with the Royals on November 1st<\/a>, picked up an assist on the Butcher goal. <\/p>\n Adirondack came out with the momentum in the second, but it wouldn\u2019t last as Kyle Haskins extended the Royals lead to three at the 8:46 mark. It was a tough period for Adirondack as they gave up a handful of breakaways to Reading, but wouldn\u2019t get burned by them. In Friday\u2019s game, we saw glimpses of the physicality that seemed to hit a boiling point at the end of the second period. Ryan Wheeler and Alec Butcher dropped the gloves at the 18:36 mark. The fight for Butcher completed the Gordie Howe Hat-Trick. Adirondack attempted to claw themselves back in the game as Brian Carrabes cleaned up a shot from the point from Jacob Graves to make it a one-goal game. As expected, the period wouldn\u2019t end quietly as Tyson Fawcett and Carson Golder dropped the gloves. Three players from each team began the third period in the penalty box. <\/p>\n Adirondack got a great chance to tie it up as Matt Salhany had a good chance in the opening minute of the period. Reading would add three more goals in the third, including another one from Butcher, who capped off a three-point night. Jimmy Dowd Jr. would add a goal for the Thunder with less than two minutes remaining. Brannon McManus would finish the week with a goal and an assist in each of the two games. <\/p>\n Yaniv Perets got a much-needed win after allowing 13 goals in his first two starts of the season. On the other end of the ice, Tyler Brennan gave up seven goals on 43 shots. It is the first time he\u2019s given up seven goals in his ECHL career. The 43 shots are the most allowed by the Adirondack Thunder this season.
