As theaters await the end-of-year bonanza set to start next weekend with \u201cWicked: For Good<\/a>,\u201d Lionsgate<\/a>\u2019s \u201cNow You See Me: Now You Don\u2019t<\/a>\u201d is tiding them over with a $21.3 million opening weekend, beating Paramount<\/a>\u2019s \u201cThe Running Man<\/a>\u201d for the No. 1 spot.<\/p>\n

That gives Lionsgate its first No. 1 since January, when \u201cDen of Thieves: Pantera<\/a>\u201d and \u201cFlight Risk<\/a>\u201d topped the charts during a sluggish post-holiday period. Before inflation adjustment, this opening weekend is on par with the $22 million opening of \u201cNow You See Me 2<\/a>\u201d in 2016.<\/p>\n
