“Flowers<\/em> is 20 years into a journey,” guitarist and clean vocalist Jeremy<\/strong> DePoyster<\/strong> explains of the newest The Devil Wears Prada<\/strong> venture, “The\u00a0highs,\u00a0the\u00a0lows, a reckoning with what it means be a human catapulting through\u00a0the\u00a0chaos that life throws at us continually. This is us at our peak, in songwriting, in raw and authentic lyricism and introspection, and a desperate attempt to connect with anyone else who feels\u00a0the\u00a0same way that we do.” The band just released their newest album, Flowers<\/em>, this past Friday<\/a> (14th November), alongside a music video for focus track, “Cure Me.”<\/p>\n When speaking about the album’s singles, its apparent that The Devil Wears Prada<\/strong> are tapping into that raw and vulnerable storytelling that they’re known for, with their ninth record<\/a> boasting their collection of skills over the years, but refined. With the single “Everybody Knows” tackling the brutal experience of “feeling out of place \u2013 when your anxiety takes over and you can’t\u00a0hide it anymore,”\u00a0<\/em>the\u00a0band says elaborated, “<\/em>It’s\u00a0that moment when you realise everyone can see you’re not holding it together, but you don’t know how to escape it;” and single “Where The Flowers Never Grow,” which DePoyster<\/strong> describes, “is a song about the realisation that no matter how good things get from the outside, there is a still a place of darkness in our minds\u2026 the place where flowers never grow.”<\/p>\n
