Sydney Hardeman<\/strong>, who went viral for her reaction to Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s<\/strong><\/a> 2018 Coachella performance, has died. She was 25.<\/p>\n

Hardeman\u2019s mother, Jamie Hardeman<\/strong>, confirmed her death to TMZ<\/a><\/em> on Saturday, November 15, adding that her daughter died by suicide. Sydney was engaged at the time of her death and planning an April 2026 wedding.<\/p>\n

Her family told the outlet that they noticed a \u201cdifference in her mood\u201d following the death of her grandfather, though they are \u201cstill trying to figure out why she took her own life.\u201d In life, her family shared that Sydney loved to play basketball as a child and during her time in college, and was beginning to embark in a career as a flight instructor.<\/p>\n

Sydney went viral in 2018, after she traveled from Texas to California with her brother and best friend to see Beyonc\u00e9 perform at the annual Coachella festival. She was memorably the first person at the gate, going on to wait 12 hours before the concert began. She went viral after her shocked response to Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s set was featured in the singer\u2019s documentary Homecoming: A Film by Beyonc\u00e9<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In a 2019 interview with BuzzFeed<\/em><\/a> Sydney said of the moment, \u201cI was expecting to see myself because I remember the cameraman being in my face the whole time, but I was so happy to be shown because it means Beyonc\u00e9 knows my face exists.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sydney\u2019s mother had a message for other Beyonc\u00e9 fans in the wake of her daughter\u2019s untimely death.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou guys are young, and you are excited, you guys haven\u2019t gotten to the good part,\u201d Jamie told TMZ<\/em>. \u201cLean on your village, Sydney had a huge village \u2026sometimes you just need to be vulnerable to the people around you so they can help you. Parents are here to support you. It\u2019s OK to be down, it\u2019s normal, you haven\u2019t gotten to the good part yet. Please keep going.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jamie added that Sydney \u201cnever meant to leave you. She loved all of you. In her name, make sure you guys are OK and find the support when you need it.\u201d<\/p>\n

A GoFundMe<\/a> was also set up to support the Hardeman family.<\/p>\n

Sydney was one of those rare people who brought light and laughter everywhere she went, confident, hilarious, endlessly kind, and full of life. She was an incredible pilot, deeply educated and passionate about everything she did.\u201d<\/p>\n
