SNL<\/em> has a country hit in the making with \u201cI Miss My Ex\u2019s Dad,\u201d a musical parody starring new cast members Ben Marshall and Tommy Brennan as a convincing country duo. The pair reminisce about relationships lost in a pre-taped sketch that aired Saturday night (Nov. 15) on the late-night comedy show\u2019s latest episode, hosted by actor Glen Powell.<\/p>\n \u201cYou ever miss someone much you lose sight of yourself?\u201d Brennan asks at the bar.<\/p>\n More from Billboard<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cYou think about them all the time and you wonder if life will ever seem normal again,\u201d adds Marshall, sitting on the hood of a pickup truck.<\/p>\n \u201cHaven\u2019t felt the same since you\u2019ve been gone\/ Everyone else just feels so wrong\/ By now I thought I\u2019d be over you\/ At the bottom of this bottle, I\u2019ll know what to do\/ I don\u2019t know what else to say\/ I just wanna hear about your day\/ I can\u2019t stop thinking \u2018bout what we had,\u201d they sing, and then comes the kicker comes in: \u201cOh man, I miss my ex\u2019s dad.\u201d<\/p>\n Glen Powell and Kenan Thompson play the beloved dads who\u2019ve inspired the country duet.<\/p>\n \u201cYour socks, your Crocs\/ You\u2019re the ideal male with your ponytail,\u201d vocalists Marshall and Brennan lament on the chorus, which has the guys admitting, \u201cI don\u2019t miss his daughter at all, which I know is bad\/ I just miss my ex\u2019s dad.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cYour grill, your Buick\/ You\u2019re the ideal man with your cardigans,\u201d they sing later on. \u201cDon\u2019t remember his daughter\u2019s name, which I know is bad\/ I just miss my ex\u2019s dad.\u201d<\/p>\n As it turns out, the feeling is mutual. \u201cI wish her new boyfriend was dead,\u201d the dads (Powell and Thompson) sing.<\/p>\n Watch SNL<\/em>\u2018s \u201cI Miss My Ex\u2019s Dad\u201d music sketch below.
