Jennifer Lawrence is opening up about her fears while waiting for the release of a movie she\u2019s worked really hard on.<\/p>\n
The Oscar-winning actress, who stars opposite Robert Pattinson<\/a> in director Lynne Ramsay\u2019s new movie, Die My Love<\/a>, recently told V Magazine<\/a> that she finds it \u201cvery scary\u201d waiting for audience reactions to her projects.<\/p>\n More from The Hollywood Reporter<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cThe experience only adds to the dread, because I\u2019ve had so many experiences of working so hard on something, loving something so deeply, and then releasing it to the world, and the world just being like, \u2018Boo! Hate you!\u2019 It is so awful,\u201d Lawrence admitted. \u201cAnd [yet] somehow, I read a script, I meet with the director, we get on set, we start doing it, and somehow I\u2019m able to forget that this part of the process will happen. I mean, I\u2019m very blessed and very lucky. But it\u2019s a very scary few months.\u201d<\/p>\n The Hunger Games alum continued, \u201cMy husband was so confused because he doesn\u2019t have as much experience with this stuff. So I was telling him about my anxiety, and he was like, \u2018But the movie\u2019s incredible.\u2019 And I was like, \u2018I know, but that doesn\u2019t matter. People might not get it.\u2019 And he was like, \u2018But they\u2019re wrong.\u2019 Like, as if that was supposed to make me feel better.\u201d<\/p>\n Die My Love, which is currently playing in theaters, was adapted from Ariana Harwicz\u2019s novel of the same name. It follows a writer named Grace (Lawrence) who, after moving to a remote Montana house with her husband Jackson (Pattinson), experiences a psychological and emotional breakdown following the birth of their child.<\/p>\n Lawrence previously told The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> that the prolonged press tour for the film, as it first premiered in Cannes in May<\/a>, has been \u201csuch a weird experience.\u201d Partly because the film\u2019s themes are particularly personal for the actress, as she\u2019s been open about struggling with postpartum depression following the birth of her second child.<\/p>\n \u201cIt feels so private and personal, the movie, that it feels so violating that everybody\u2019s going to watch it and discuss it eventually,\u201d she said, adding, \u201cIt\u2019s insane to me that this is just a normal part of the process. It feels like your whole diary is about to just be ripped apart by everybody. It feels very personal and weird. But I\u2019m super grateful, I can\u2019t wait for people to see it.\u201d<\/p>\n Critics\u2019 reviews of Die My Love have been decidedly mixed, with many praising Lawrence\u2019s performance. The film currently sits with a 74 percent critics score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 45 percent audience score.
