The Young and the Restless<\/em>\u2019 Camryn Grimes and Brock Powell took it to the Big Easy for their wedding. Keeping it in line with New Orleans tradition, the celebration included a second line street parade, a tarot card reading, and freshly baked beignets.<\/p>\n The couple spoke with PEOPLE<\/em><\/a> about their big day. The soap star and voice actor expressed their excitement over their intimate gathering.<\/p>\n \u201cTravel is very important to both of us,\u201d they said in a statement. \u201cWe wanted our friends and family to feel like they\u2019re on an adventure with us \u2014 a few days to explore a new place, eat some incredible food, and take in everything New Orleans has to offer. And at the end, throw an incredible party and thank them for their support and love!\u201d<\/p>\n As for why they chose New Orleans as their destination, the couple said the vibrant city was the perfect place for several reasons as New Orleans represents \u201cthe intersection of a lot of different passions and loves.\u201d Their venue also \u201creally spoke to\u201d them, inspiring the sophisticated and spooky \u201cvibe\u201d of their wedding, with Grimes noting, \u201cIt\u2019s a little moody, a little funky but at the same time very classy and historic. Powell adds, \u201cVisiting the venue gave us a classic Haunted Mansion<\/em> feel, and as a former Disney tour guide I was in love instantly.\u201d<\/p>\n For them, their wedding meant \u201csolidifying our love in front of our friends, family and our first son Bridger,\u201d who was born<\/a> in December. For Powell, marriage represents, \u201ca commitment to the best versions of ourselves, each other and a promise to help make the dreams of the other person become a reality.\u201d<\/p>\n Grimes and Powell joke that their wedding was \u201ca long time coming.\u201d they connected in 2020 after meeting during the pandemic lockdowns in Los Angeles. Powell proposed in an Up<\/em>-themed proposal two years later. \u201cHonestly, my mind was blank and all I could say was, \u2018Oh, my God,\u2019 over and over again \u2026 It was so deeply touching,\u201d Grimes told PEOPLE at the time.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
