Christian musician Charles Billingsley is slated to perform at “Noel: Jesus is Born!” a Christmas concert scheduled to take place at The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. on Dec. 17, 2025. <\/span> | The Kennedy Center <\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The Kennedy Center is hosting a Christmas concert featuring a performance by a prominent Christian musician along with readings from the Bible and a live Nativity scene.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cNoel: Jesus is Born!\u201d will be held at the Kennedy Center Opera House at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 17 in Washington, D.C., with musical performances by Charles Billingsley and his Yuletide Orchestra.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are proud to present a meaningful, faith-filled experience for families to immerse themselves in the Christmas story at America\u2019s cultural center,\u201d Kennedy Center Vice President of Public Relations Roma Daravi told The Christian Post. \u201cTis the season to create cherished memories and celebrate the sacred alongside the festive.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

The concert, which will take place in the Kennedy Center\u2019s second-largest venue<\/a>, comes after Kennedy Center Director Richard Grenell announced<\/a> at the Conservative Political Action Conference earlier this year that \u201cwe are doing a big, huge celebration of the birth of Christ at Christmas.\u201d<\/p>\n

Grenell, appointed to his post by President Donald Trump, shared his vision for a \u201cbig traditional production to celebrate what we are all celebrating in the world during Christmas time, which is the birth of Christ.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI am thrilled to be a part of ‘Noel: Jesus is Born!’ at the world-famous Kennedy Center,\u201d Billingsley said of the event. \u201cWe look forward to celebrating the birth of the Savior with classic Christmas songs, crazy big band fun, a fabulous choir, amazing musicians and singers, and a beautiful live Nativity scene.\u201d<\/p>\n

A fixture in Christian music for over three decades, Billingsley began his career with the contemporary Christian group NewSong before embarking on a solo career. As detailed on the singer\u2019s official website<\/a>, Billingsley has \u201cheadlined more than 3,200 concerts, released 24 recordings as a solo artist, and garnered seven No. 1 Inspirational radio hits.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to his role as a Christian musician, Billingsley serves as a teaching pastor<\/a> at Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, Virginia. He is scheduled to perform additional Christmas concerts<\/a> in the coming weeks in New York City, Richmond, Virginia; Columbus, Mississippi; Branson, Missouri; Brookhaven, Mississippi; Texarkana, Texas; Lynchburg, Virginia; Baker, Florida; Virginia Beach, Virginia and Plano, Texas.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cNoel: Jesus is Born!\u201d will mark the latest of several appearances Billingsley has made in the nation’s capital this year to celebrate major Christian and secular holidays.<\/p>\n

Billingsley performed at a pre-Easter dinner<\/a> at the White House in April and was one of multiple Christian musicians featured at a Kennedy Center event<\/a> titled \u201cCelebrate America: A Tribute to Our Veterans,\u201d which took place ahead of the July 4 holiday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Additional Christmas-related programming<\/a> at the Kennedy Center this year includes a rendition of \u201cThe Nutcracker\u201d as performed by the Cincinnati Ballet, along with concerts featuring gospel singer Melinda Doolittle and Grammy Award-winning singer Gregory Porter.\u00a0<\/p>\n
