KISS <\/strong>honored one of their own this weekend, paying tribute to late guitarist and founding member Ace Frehley<\/strong> during their first performance since his death<\/a>.<\/p>\n Before launching into their set at the \u201cKISS Kruise: Land-Locked in Vegas\u201d event over the weekend, frontman Paul Stanley<\/strong> paused to reflect on Frehley\u2019s legacy in shaping the band\u2019s history.<\/p>\n \u201cObviously, before we get going \u2014 and we\u2019re going to have an awesome time \u2014 but before we get going, we just wanted to take a moment to think about somebody who was at the foundation of this band,\u201d Stanley told the Las Vegas crowd. \u201cWe\u2019re talking about Ace. We certainly had differences, but that\u2019s what family is about.\u201d<\/p>\n Stanley, 73, then asked the audience to join him in a moment of silence before the show kicked off \u2014 a fitting nod to the guitarist who helped define KISS\u2019s signature sound and image in the 1970s.<\/p>\n A video of the moment is making the rounds on social media, with fans sharing their thoughts on the tribute.<\/p>\n \u201cPaul is a class act always! Very nice,\u201d one shared on TikTok<\/a>.<\/p>\n Another said, \u201cwell done guys…well done.\u201d<\/p>\n Others, however, were quick to call Stanley out for being hypocritical.<\/p>\n \u201cHey Paul…. Where was the love the last 30 yrs???,\u201d one asked.<\/p>\n Another commented, \u201cYOU KICKED HIM OUT OF THE BAND!!!!\u201d<\/p>\n While Frehley wasn\u2019t actually kicked out of the group, he did leave on his own terms<\/a>. In a February 2024 interview with Ultimate Classic Rock, Frehley said he grew frustrated that reviews focused more on the band\u2019s theatrics than their music. \u201cFor me, it was always the music first and the show second,\u201d he explained.
