The music label has removed the music video for local girl group Dolla\u2019s latest single, following strong public criticism over the members\u2019 revealing outfits.<\/p>\n

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar expressed his appreciation for the decision, calling it a sign of \u201cdiscernment and responsibility\u201d by Universal Music Malaysia.<\/p>\n
He told Kosmo that he hoped the incident would inspire all entertainment industry players to create content with a greater sense of responsibility and consideration for the community.<\/p>\n
The video, released on Nov 6, drew heated reactions on social media for featuring Dolla members Sabronzo (Wan Sabrina Wan Rusli), Tabby (Tabitha Ariel Lam) and Angel (Angelina Chai) in halter-neck tops with corset bodices paired with miniskirts, as well as outfits that exposed shoulders and midriffs.<\/p>\n
Netizens criticised Sabronzo in particular, questioning her attire and behaviour in light of her Muslim faith, while Na\u2019im had addressed the controversy, stating that he would consider pursuing Syariah offence charges against her.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe shall see if they are in breach of any regulations and Syariah law enactments.<\/p>\n
\u201cSyariah legal action is within our consideration,\u201d he told Berita Harian.<\/p>\n
The immediate action by Universal Music Malaysia came amid calls from concerned community members urging the label to remove the video from all platforms.<\/p>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n
