Dr. Heavenly Kimes<\/a> is an open book when it comes to discussing her personal life, as viewers of Bravo\u2019s Married to Medicine<\/em><\/a> have come to learn over the past decade; however, there are specific topics in this upcoming season that she felt \u201cforced\u201d to talk about.<\/p>\n Speaking to Us Weekly<\/em><\/a> at BravoCon 2025 in Las Vegas on Saturday (November 16), Kimes said she went into Season 12, which premieres on November 30, the same way she \u201calways\u201d goes into a new season, knowing, \u201cWhatever I\u2019m going through actually comes up on camera.\u201d<\/p>\n However, this season was particularly difficult for Kimes, as she had to discuss her son, Damon Jr.\u2019s, arrest. \u201cI don\u2019t like to talk about it, but I was forced to talk about a lot of things this season that I never do, and it\u2019s explosive,\u201d the reality star told the outlet.<\/p>\n Earlier this year, Damon Jr. (28) was indicted on a felony charge of aggravated assault against a law enforcement officer. According to prosecutors, in February 2023, Damon drove his vehicle directly toward a Georgia State University police officer.<\/p>\n The officer was not struck in the altercation, but prosecutors claimed the act was dangerous enough to justify an aggravated assault charge. In August, the case was placed on judicial hold, and Damon was given a chance to resolve it through Fulton County\u2019s Pre-Trial Adult Diversion Program.<\/p>\n Kimes, who has starred on Married to Medicine<\/em> since 2014, referenced her son\u2019s arrest in her interview with Us Weekly.<\/em> \u201cListen, my son got arrested, I\u2019m running [a political] campaign,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m running for Congress, and it was just a lot of personal issues. It was a very difficult season for me this year.\u201d<\/p>\n On Tuesday, July 8, Kimes announced her candidacy for the Democratic ticket for Georgia State Representative in District 93. \u201cI\u2019m a mom, a doctor, a business owner, and I\u2019m not afraid to stand up for what I believe in. I\u2019m running to serve, and I\u2019m ready to work,\u201d she told People<\/em><\/a> at the time.<\/p>\n Kimes previously discussed her son\u2019s arrest during a livestream with Carlos King. \u201cIt was years ago, Damon never told me,\u201d she said, per Us Weekly<\/em>. \u201cHe handled that s***, and that\u2019s why I love him, because he knew I would have been upset. He went down there, he talked to the people [and] my son never got charged with anything.\u201d<\/p>\n
