An acclaimed actress, known for roles in Broadway shows and hit television series, has died at the age of 84.<\/p>\n
Tony Award winner Elizabeth Franz<\/a> died Nov. 4 at her home in Connecticut. Her husband, screenwriter Christopher Pelham<\/a>, confirmed the news to the New York Times<\/a>. <\/p>\n Franz\u2019s cause of death was revealed to be a severe reaction to medication she used as she battled cancer.<\/p>\n The Ohio native was best known for playing Linda Loman, the wife of protagonist Willy Loman (Brain Dennehy<\/a>), in the 1999 revival of \u201cDeath of a Salesman.\u201d Franz won the Tony Award for best performance by an actress in a featured role in a play for her role. <\/p>\n Franz appeared in a variety of Broadway and off-Broadway productions such as \u201cBrighton Beach Memoirs,\u201d \u201cLost in Yonkers\u201d and \u201cA View for the Bridge\u201d over the span of her 50-plus year career.<\/p>\n The legendary actress went on to receive an Emmy nomination for her work in Showtime\u2019s 2000 TV movie adaptation of \u201cDeath of a Salesman<\/a>,\u201d as well.<\/p>\n Some of Franz\u2019s most notable television appearances came in series like \u201cGilmore Girls,\u201d \u201cGrey\u2019s Anatomy,\u201d \u201cJudging Amy,\u201d and \u201cLaw & Order.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n If you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.
