Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet said Adam Sandler should\u2019ve won an Oscar for his performance in the 2002 film, Punch-Drunk Love<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n \u201cIt is one of the most important performances,\u201d the Marty Supreme<\/em> star told Sandler during a joint appearance in Los Angeles<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n The pair first met on the set of 2014\u2019s Men, Women & Children<\/em>, though Chalamet\u2019s scenes were ultimately cut from the film<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet<\/a> is proving he\u2019s one of Adam Sandler<\/a>\u2019s biggest fans.<\/p>\n During a joint appearance at the Nov. 15 Sandler x Chalamet event held at Los Angeles\u2019 Fairfax High School, the 29-year-old actor insisted that Sandler\u2019s performance in the 2002 film Punch-Drunk Love<\/em> was enough to deem him worthy of an Oscar.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is one of the most important performances,\u201d Chalamet told Sandler, 59, onstage at the event, per Variety<\/em><\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s impactful, deeply moving. As a young actor knowing you for your comedic work, seeing that thrown against the context of your other work, I\u2019m like, \u2018Wow, this is a f—— incredible actor. I hope I can give a performance like this.’ \u201d<\/p>\n Beyond his work in Punch-Drunk Love<\/em>, Sandler has starred in comedy classics, including Happy Gilmore<\/em><\/a> and The Wedding Singer<\/em><\/a>. He first rose to fame as a Saturday Night Live<\/em><\/a> writer and cast member from 1990 to 1995.
