Christopher Nolan<\/a>\u2019s \u201cThe Odyssey<\/a>\u201d is making film history as the first narrative feature shot entirely with Imax cameras, and it\u2019s all thanks in part to a child and a David Bowie<\/a> song. The film\u2019s cinematographer, Hoyte van Hoytema<\/a>, revealed to Empire magazine that he shot Imax test footage of a kid reading Bowie\u2019s \u201cSound And Vision\u201d lyrics to prove whether or not Imax<\/a> film cameras were advanced enough to record dialogue.<\/p>\n

\u201cI presented Chris with a very big close-up of a child on the IMAX<\/a> screen, reciting David Bowie\u2019s \u2018Sound And Vision\u2019 from a piece of paper,\u201d van Hoytema said. \u201cIt was very touching: that level of intimacy in both image and sound, fused together, projected in the theatre.\u201d<\/p>\n
