The film ends on something of a cliffhanger, but we won’t spoil that here. Instead, let’s take a roundabout look at what the future might hold for the perennial sci-fi horror franchise.

<dialog aria-label="Modal Dialog" aria-modal="true" class="fixed inset-0 z-4 size-full max-h-none max-w-none bg-white hidden"/>

Predator: Badlands 2

Predator has a reputation for being, let me put this lightly… A little schizophrenic. Each film basically tells their own stand-alone story, with only tangential connections to one another. In fact, the only Predator movie that’s a direct follow-up to its predecessor is Aliens vs Predator: Requiem, which is set directly after the first Alien vs Predator movie. I won’t spoil the ending of Predator: Badlands, but they could certainly follow it up with a direct sequel if they wanted to.

Alien vs Predator

Thematically, Alien and Predator don’t really have much in common, other than having space monsters killing people, but thanks to corporate synergy, we’ve had tons of AvP comics, novels, video games, and even a pair of movies, and – you know what? – some of these crossovers are actually quite good. Predator: Badlands doesn’t feature any proper Xenomorphs, but the Weyland-Yutani corporation plays an important role in the film. As a result, Badlands feels more like an Alien/Predator crossover than the actual AvP movies from 2004 and 2007. Given Badlands’ use of the WY corporation, a new AvP movie is only a matter of time.

Predator vs Predator

Imagine this: a Predator ship is flying through space, but crash-lands on Earth. On a mysterious island. An island owned by Jeffrey Epstein. When the Predator sees the depravity of Epstein’s operation, including at least one President of the United States (allegedly) taking advantage of trafficked underaged women, the space alien decides that these men, while not worthy prey for a hunter, are unsportsmanlike in their conduct towards their own prey, and they must pay for their crimes. Cue 90 minutes of non-stop bloodshed as the Predator kills everyone in his way and saves the children of Epstein Island before setting his sights on Mar-a-Lago, a place this writer will surely never be invited to visit after the publication of this article.

Predator: The Quest To Resolve Every Cliffhanger Ever

The Predator series has left a ton of dangling plot threads over the years. Killer of Killers introduced the idea of Dutch and Harrigan from Predator 1 and 2 being frozen in stasis for an unknown purpose. The survivors of 2010’s Predators are presumably still on that ‘game preserve’ planet, fighting any monsters who try to hunt them. Even 2018’s Predator ended with the promise of a straight-up Predator invasion, with only Boyd Holbrook’s “Predator-Killer” suit to protect humanity from the invasion. On the “Alien” side of the equation, we’re still waiting to learn the final fate of Michael Fassbender’s android character, David. With all that in mind, why not throw it all into a blender and have one epic Predator movie to address all of these wayward cliffhangers and wrap up the story so far, allowing for new movies to have a truly blank slate from which to work? Would it be messy? Yup. Would lore enthusiasts eat it up like flies on a pile of elephant dung? Also yup.

To Catch A Predator

I just thought it was a fun pun. Maybe Chris Hansen would star as himself, learning about the Predators and launching an investigation that ends with him impersonating a decorated war hero, thus drawing the Predator out and luring him to a nondescript suburban home. When the Predator busts in, hoping to kill a battle-hardened warrior, he’s instead met by Hansen, who tells the Yautja to “have a seat.” Now that I think of it, this one sounds kinda cool, actually!

Related: Is Predator: Badlands “Compromised” By Its PG-13 Rating?

‘ The preceding article may include information circulated by third parties ’

‘ Some details of this article were extracted from the following source www.yahoo.com ’

Predator: Badlands has proven to be a box office hit, so it’s a safe bet that there will be more Predator movies in the future.
