\u201cHello, my brother.\u201d That\u2019s how Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon<\/a>) greeted Dwayne Pride (Scott Bakula<\/a>) on\u00a0NCIS<\/a><\/em> in the backdoor pilot for\u00a0New Orleans<\/a><\/em>, \u201cCrescent City,\u201d in 2014. But how did they develop such a close friendship? Well, we\u2019re about to start getting the origins of just that.<\/p>\n NCIS: Origins<\/a><\/em> is casting the role of Young Pride for an episode to air later this season, TV Insider has learned exclusively. Yes, Pride is joining other characters whose younger versions have showed up on the prequel including Gibbs (Austin Stowell<\/a>), Mike Franks (Kyle Schmid<\/a> and Muse Watson<\/a>), Vera Strickland (Diany Rodriguez<\/a> and Roma Maffia), Dr. Donald \u201cDucky\u201d Mallard (Adam Campbell<\/a> and David McCallum<\/a>), and Tobias Fornell (Lucas Dixon and Joe Spano<\/a>). Scott Bakula played the role of Pride for seven seasons of\u00a0NCIS: New Orleans<\/em><\/a>, from 2014 to 2021.<\/p>\n Origins<\/em>\u2018 version of Pride, a former Sheriff\u2019s Deputy, is a newly minted Probationary Special Agent from the NIS Panama office. He has a history with Gibbs (Austin Stowell), and the two must resolve their past tension as they go undercover on a case.<\/p>\n \u201cOne of the special things about NCIS: Origins<\/em> is being able to explore the early days of so many beloved characters from the franchise,\u201d said co-showrunners and executive producers Gina Lucita Monreal<\/a> and David J. North<\/a>. \u201cWe\u2019re excited to go back in time and meet the 1990s version of New Orleans\u2019 pride and joy, the legendary Special Agent Dwayne Pride, and learn more about his history with Gibbs.\u201d<\/p>\n Skip Bolen\/CBS<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The aforementioned \u201cCrescent City\u201d delved into the Fed Five \u2014 Gibbs, Pride, Franks, Dan McClane (whose murder reunited Gibbs and Pride), and Felix Betts \u2014 and one of their past cases, the Privileged Killer. Dan, who had taught Pride everything he knew, and Franks had been the senior members of the team, and Gibbs and Pride, at the time, were both probies. That means we\u2019ll also be keeping an eye on Pride\u2019s dynamic with Franks in the \u201990s.<\/p>\n In 2014, Gibbs told his team \u2014 Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly<\/a>), Timothy McGee (Sean Murray<\/a>), and Eleanor Bishop (Emily Wickersham<\/a>) \u2014 that he had known Pride for 30 years, \u201ctrust him with my life. You can trust him, too.\u201d (That put their first meeting in 1984.) It sounds like this Origins<\/em> appearance could show at least the beginnings of how the two go from having \u201cpast tension\u201d to just that.<\/p>\n That same two-parter also saw Pride claim that Gibbs stole his stopping the elevator move from him. \u201cStole my ass,\u201d Gibbs protested.<\/p>\n
