Kristen Stewart<\/a>\u2019s directorial debut, \u201cThe Chronology of Water<\/a>,\u201d has released its first official trailer.<\/p>\n

Adapted by Stewart<\/a> from Lidia Yuknavitch<\/a>\u2019s memoir, \u201cThe Chronology of Water<\/a>\u201d tells the story of a young competitive swimmer wrestling with childhood trauma and addiction who ultimately overcomes her troubled past by channeling her life experiences through writing. Following its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, the Forge<\/a> has acquired North American rights to Stewart\u2019s film.<\/p>\n

The Forge<\/a> will release the film to theaters in December, followed by a wider rollout in January. Imogen Poots<\/a> stars as Yuknavitch. Rounding out the ensemble cast are Jim Belushi<\/a>, Thora Birch<\/a>, Charlie Carrick<\/a>, Susannah Flood<\/a>, Kim Gordon<\/a> and Tom Sturridge<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Stewart spent eight years developing \u201cThe Chronology of Water<\/a>\u201d and said she is grateful the film will be released theatrically with full awards support.<\/p>\n
