A longtime \u201cSimpsons\u201d character has died.<\/p>\n
During the Sunday, Nov. 16, episode, the First Church of Springfield\u2019s organist, Alice Glick<\/b> (voiced by Tress MacNeille), keeled over in the middle of service. After her death, it was revealed that Alice left all her money to Springfield Elementary so the school could fund a new music program. Principal Skinner (Harry Shearer) informed the students that \u201ca dead lady you\u2019ve never met\u201d was behind the generous contribution.<\/p>\n
Alice previously died during the season 23 episode \u201cReplaceable You\u201d after being attacked by a seal robopet. She went on to appear in subsequent episodes as both a ghost and a living human. So, does that mean Alice could return from the dead once again? <\/p>\n
No. \u201cThe Simpsons\u201d executive producer Tim Long says Alice is gone for good this time.<\/p>\n \u201cIn a sense, Alice the organist will live forever, through the beautiful music she made. But in another, more important sense, yep she\u2019s dead as a doornail,\u201d Long said in a statement to TVLine<\/a>.<\/p>\n Alice has been part of the Springfield community for decades. She made her first \u201cSimpsons\u201d appearance in 1991, during the season 2 episode \u201cThree Men and a Comic Book.\u201d She\u2019s appeared in over 30 episodes since then.<\/p>\n Alice\u2019s death comes after \u201cThe Simpsons\u201d killed off Larry Dalrymple last year. A regular at Moe\u2019s Tavern, Larry was featured in the cartoon\u2019s very first episode. She was only dead in a flash-forward, which means she\u2019s still alive in the current \u201cSimpsons\u201d timeline. Set years in the future, the episode showed Marge looking down on her adult children Lisa (Yeardley Smith) and Bart Simpson (Nancy Cartwright) from heaven. <\/p>\n Lisa and Bart had become estranged, and the late Marge was elated when they reconciled. She\u2019s also married to Ringo Starr in the afterlife, as Homer Simpson (Dan Castellaneta) is still alive in the future.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Simpsons\u201d executive producer Matt Selman later assured fans that there are no plans to kill off Marge for good. <\/p>\n \u201cMarge will probably never be dead ever again.
