<\/p>\n
The competition continued on Season 34 of\u00a0Dancing With the Stars<\/a><\/em> during the Tuesday, November 18, episode. Just six couples remained<\/a> in the Semifinals, and they all hit the dance floor two times with routines to songs by Prince.<\/p>\n Every couple performed a new style of dance, as well as one that they\u2019d already previously learned, with hopes of showing improvement. Carrie Ann Inaba<\/a>, Derek Hough<\/a>, and Bruno Tonioli<\/a> were behind the judges\u2019 table to give their scores, which will be combined with viewer votes to determine which pair will be eliminated.\u00a0The five couples who make it past the elimination will head to next week\u2019s Finals.<\/p>\n Scroll down for a live recap of the night\u2019s performances, including the judges\u2019 comments and scores. Plus, see where everyone falls on the leaderboard throughout the episode and check back at the end to find out who goes home!<\/p>\n To kick off the night, Elaine Hendrix<\/a> danced a foxtrot to \u201cI Wanna Be Your Lover.\u201d Inaba said, \u201cYou are sophisticated, smooth, strong. It\u2019s solid.\u201d She noted that \u201cnothing was wrong with the dance,\u201d but said she wants Hendrix to \u201cpush a little more\u201d to make the Finals.<\/p>\n \u201cThat was beautiful. Truly incredible foxtrot,\u201d Hough gushed. He did echo Inaba\u2019s statement, though, and urged Hendrix, \u201cI want to see a little more fight [in your second dance].\u201d Tonioli agreed that Hendrix needs to \u201cpush a bit harder,\u201d but praised her performance overall.<\/p>\n She received three 9s from the judges for a total score so far of 27\/30.<\/p>\n For her first dance of the night, Alix Earle<\/a> performed a spicy Argentine tango to \u201cLittle Red Corvette.\u201d Hough commented first. \u201cI didn\u2019t like it. I LOVED IT,\u201d he raved. \u201cTruly. Alix, I really think you have the potential to go all the way in this competition.\u201d He also praised Earle\u2019s improvement and called the dance \u201cgorgeous.\u201d<\/p>\n Tonioli added, \u201cI agree. The shapes. The lines. The bodywork. Top notch.\u201d However, he also noted there was a move that \u201ccould\u2019ve been sharper.\u201d Inaba weighed in last, saying, \u201cI agree. Out of all the competitors who are here tonight, you have grown the most, steadily, in all aspects. You\u2019re really blossoming.\u201d<\/p>\n She did add some critiques, though, and urged Earle to \u201ccome back stronger\u201d on her second dance of the night. Hough gave the dance a 10, while Inaba and Toniolo scored her 9s, so Earle earned a 28\/30 total.<\/p>\n Next, Whitney Leavitt<\/a> hit the dance floor with a cha-cha-cha to \u201c1999.\u201d Tonioli called it a \u201csaucy\u201d cha-cha-cha and raved over how much content was put into the dance, also noting the level of difficulty. \u201cYou did it stunningly well,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Inaba added, \u201cOnce again, a wonderful dance. At times, I felt that the technique \u2026 I could see you focusing on the technique, and normally that doesn\u2019t happen when you perform. It almost hindered it.\u201d However, she made sure to note that it was still \u201cwell-delivered.\u201d<\/p>\n Hough said Inaba is \u201cout of [her] mind,\u201d and said the performance was \u201cawesome.\u201d With 10s from Hough and Tonioli, and a 9 from Inaba, Leavitt earned a 29\/30 total.<\/p>\n Dylan Efron<\/a>\u2018s Prince song was \u201cI Would Die 4 U.\u201d He performed a tango and worked hard on making sure he was tucking his backside under, due to comments he\u2019d received from judges in the past. He also had a proud supporter in the audience, with his brother Zac Efron<\/a> showing up for the first time<\/a> this season.<\/p>\n Inaba pointed out a mess-up with Efron\u2019s footwork at one point in the routine, and warned him to \u201cfeel the music\u201d while dancing. Hough said, \u201cOverall, my man, that was fantastic,\u201d but also said that there weren\u2019t enough heel leads in the dance.<\/p>\n In the end, all three judges gave Efron 9s, for a total of 27\/30.<\/p>\n Jordan Chiles<\/a>\u2018 first dance was a jive to \u201cRaspberry Beret.\u201d Hough called the jive \u201cfresh and so fantastic.\u201d However, he added, \u201cI wanted a little more attack, a little more sharpness, a little more bite.<\/p>\n Tonioli said the dance was \u201cso fast\u201d that Chiles lost the timing a little bit, but Inaba called it the \u201cbest performance of the night so far.\u201d Still, she had to point out the mess-up, as well, although she said she would give it a perfect score if she didn\u2019t notice that.<\/p>\n With three 9s, Chiles earned a 27\/30 for her first dance of the night.<\/p>\n Closing out round 1 was Robert Irwin<\/a> with a jive to \u201cBaby I\u2019m a Star.\u201d It\u2019s the same dance he did in Week 1, so there was plenty of room to show improvement nine weeks later.<\/p>\n \u201cFor Prince, only a superstar jive would do. You did that,\u201d Tonioli said, also noting Irwin\u2019s \u201ccontrol\u201d in the dance and perfect choreography. Inaba said, \u201cThat is how you tell everyon! You demand to be in the finale when you dance like that. That was insane. So clean, so sharp!\u201d<\/p>\n Hough closed out the comments by saying, \u201cWhen you dance, you dance with your full body, your full charisma. You\u2019re not just hitting the steps.\u201d The dance earned Irwin another perfect score from the judges \u2026 all 10s!<\/p>\n Hendrix returned to the dance floor with a paso doble to \u201cWhen Doves Cry.\u201d Inaba jumped out of her seat to hug Hendrix. \u201cYou left it all on the floor!\u201d she gushed.<\/p>\n Hough called it a \u201cproper, beautiful paso doble\u201d and raved over how Hendrix \u201ccame with that fight\u201d to the dance floor. \u201cThat is what we\u2019re talking about,\u201d he added. \u201cTruly, that is exactly what we\u2019re talking about.\u201d The dance earned Hendrix her first perfect score of the season.<\/p>\n The leaderboard below will be updated throughout the episode.<\/p>\n Elaine Hendrix & Alan Bersten<\/a> \u2014 57\/60Elaine Hendrix \u2014 27\/30<\/h2>\n
