Now, the restaurant has already closed.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s likely the restaurant closed due to its exorbitantly high prices, like the fish and chips prominently featured for $35 on its menu or a $25 rum and coke.<\/p>\n<p>The actor <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/torontolife.com\/food\/whats-on-the-menu-at-bar-clams-matty-mathesons-east-coast-diner\/\">told Toronto Life<\/a> last year that the restaurant was an ode to his heritage, saying \u201cI want to share my love for my grandparents and the food I grew up eating in the Maritimes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That didn\u2019t last long, as a Toronto dining group <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/FoodToronto\/comments\/1osptoj\/bar_clams_permanently_closed\/?share_id=e41_vO3YHPD_fss6alwft&amp;utm_content=1&amp;utm_medium=ios_app&amp;utm_name=ioscss&amp;utm_source=share&amp;utm_term=1\">on Reddit<\/a> noticed that the restaurant was marked as permanently closed on Google less than a year after it opened.<\/p>\n<p>After the news broke, a reporter from the Toronto Star <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thestar.com\/news\/gta\/one-of-matty-mathesons-toronto-restaurants-closes-less-than-a-year-after-opening\/article_7cb2850f-1d59-4aa5-99ac-a5797aa1f292.html\">contacted<\/a> the hospitality company\u2019s director of operations, who confirmed the restaurant\u2019s closure. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBar Clams has closed its doors effective Nov. 9, 2025.
