William Mellon has rounded out the cast of his coming feature, \u201cDiscomfort, Texas, \u201d a film loosely inspired by the loss of his own twin sister.<\/p>\n
The cast will feature Jack Shaw, Mallory Higgins, Maya Boyce and Claire Young, with special appearances by Carla Gallo (Apple TV\u2019s \u201cPlatonic\u201d) and Lauren Lane (\u201cThe Nanny\u201d) as Nancy.<\/p>\n
\u200bShaw will play Frank Hines, \u201ca sensitive, emotionally stunted young man\u201d coping with the impending loss of his twin sister. Higgins will star as Jane Hines, Frank\u2019s \u201csharp, rebellious and emotionally self-contained\u201d twin sister.<\/p>\n
Young will portray Suzanne, Frank\u2019s recent ex and Jane\u2019s former best friend while Boyce takes on the role of Ada, Jane\u2019s closest confidant. Gallo and Lane will play Maggie and Nancy,\u00a0 Frank and Jane\u2019s mothers.<\/p>\n
\u200b\u201cDiscomfort, Texas\u201d centers on the aftermath of a car accident that puts Frank\u2019s twin sister Jane in a coma and causes Frank to spiral. According to the official logline, \u201cOnce defined by his intense connection with Jane, Frank must travel to the area of the crash to sift through the emotional wreckage.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u200bSet to a soundtrack by \u201cGoodnight, Texas\u201d and \u201cDeloyd Elze,\u201d the film is described as \u201ca love-letter to the beauty found during loss as well as the cinematic landscape of the American Southwest.\u201d\u200b<\/p>\n
