The first look at the long-awaited third Jumanji movie has been unveiled. It comes as filming gets underway on the new sequel.<\/p>\n
The follow-up to Jumanji: The Next Level has certainly been a long time coming, with the confirmation back in September<\/a> that it was happening coming six years after the last film.<\/p>\n Studio Sony has now shared a first still of main stars Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan and Jack Black back in character as Smolder, Mouse, Ruby and Shelly, respectively.<\/p>\n “Look who\u2019s on the loose #JumanjiMovie is coming exclusively to theatres Christmas 2026,” they wrote on X<\/a>, the image showing the quartet standing in the middle of a street.<\/p>\n Johnson recently confirmed that work was getting underway on Jumanji 3 this November, adding to Variety<\/a>: “The films that I made in the past, I love them. I’ll go back to making them again.”<\/p>\n Sony Pictures<\/span><\/p>\n Related: <\/strong>Best streaming services<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Jake Kasdan is returning to direct Jumanji 3, with Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg also back to write the screenplay alongside the director.<\/p>\n Producer Hiram Garcia revealed back in 2021 that they had planned to start work on the threequel after 2024’s Red One, telling ComicBook<\/a> that they had “a big vision for [the next Jumanji] movie” and are “fired up for that.”<\/p>\n Hiram Garcia – Sony Pictures<\/span><\/p>\n “We’re taking it in soon. And obviously the goal is sometime after\u2026 Jake [Kasdan] is doing Red One for us, so that is going to be next up,” he added. “But sometime after Red One comes out, Jumanji is going to be on deck. I feel like we’ll have everything ready by then, and we’ll be able to get into that third instalment.”<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Hart appeared to previously confirm that the third movie would be the franchise’s final entry, telling Variety<\/a> in 2023: “We need something big to put our duo to an end, and not just leave it undone.”<\/p>\n<\/span><\/div>\n
