Labrinth has released a new single, \u201cIMPLOSION,\u201d the third offering from his upcoming The Cosmic Opera: Act I<\/em> project.<\/p>\n The song begins with sparse, emphatic horn shrills that dip in pitch and stretch into the full composition, which Labrinth speckles with \u201cGo, I\u2019ma go\u201d ad-libs before rhyming, \u201cI\u2019m running like a bitch from my zeitgeists\/I\u2019m tryna get a grip on my insides.\u201d The production\u2019s haunting tone matches the chorus, where he rhymes, \u201cAnd they mark us out of 10, in a game we\u2019ll never win\/Chasing all this fame, \u2018til we meet our bitter end.\u201d<\/p>\n More from Rolling Stone<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cThis record is an attempt specifically from an artist perspective to explore mental illness while navigating a career in the entertainment industry,\u201d the Euphoria<\/em> soundscapist<\/a> said in a statement about the track. \u201cThe paranoia, the confirmation of threats, the desperate and unfulfilling pursuit of success.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIMPLOSION\u201d follows \u201cOrchestra\u201d and \u201cS.W.M.F.\u201d,<\/a> two singles from his album, which drops on Jan. 30 via Columbia Records.
