Converge have announced a new album called Love Is Not Enough<\/em><\/a>, which is set for release on February 13 via Deathwish<\/a>. It follows the metalcore band\u2019s 2017 LP The Dusk in Us<\/em> and the 2021 Chelsea Wolfe collab Bloodmoon: I<\/em><\/a>. Check out the title track below, and scroll down for the album cover and tracklist.<\/p>\n According to vocalist Jacob Bannon, \u2018Love Is Not Enough\u2019 \u201cexplores what it means to remain empathetic and compassionate in the modern world. A reckoning with who we are today and hope to be in the future \u2014 if we can fend off the scavengers.\u201d<\/p>\n The album was recorded and mixed by guitarist Kurt Ballou at God City in Salem, MA. \u201cI think that realism is missing from a lot of modern music of any genre, but especially our genre,\u201d Bannon said. \u201cThings either go super raw and almost chaotic to the point where it\u2019s distracting, or bands take the life out of what they\u2019re doing by editing every aspect. Sometimes the perfect take is the one that has some wildness to it. It\u2019s not perfectly executed. There\u2019s a lot of powerful moments on this record and a lot of angry moments. The realism amplifies that.\u201d<\/p>\n Bannon added: \u201cIt does a thing that no other Converge record does\u2014it keeps ramping up. And that\u2019s definitely by design. Internally, we passed around dozens of ideas for sequencing because everyone interprets music differently and there\u2019s no right way of doing it. When we do that, we always joke that we all have to be equally unhappy. But this is the one that works.\u201d<\/p>\n
