{"id":2167410,"date":"2025-11-19T21:59:51","date_gmt":"2025-11-19T21:59:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/?p=2167410"},"modified":"2025-11-19T21:59:51","modified_gmt":"2025-11-19T21:59:51","slug":"chris-daughtry-talks-ai-fakes-this-is-absolute-bullshit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/chris-daughtry-talks-ai-fakes-this-is-absolute-bullshit\/","title":{"rendered":"Chris Daughtry Talks AI Fakes: &#8216;This Is Absolute Bullshit&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tTwo years ago, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/daughtry\/\" id=\"auto-tag_daughtry\" data-tag=\"daughtry\">Daughtry<\/a> released \u201c<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=zSmySDrz9ko\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Artificial<\/a>,\u201d a single that took full-throated aim at AI culture: \u201cPlug into the new you\/Don\u2019t resist \u2019cause it\u2019s no use, it\u2019s no use\/It\u2019s digital warfare\/The death of who we are is right here.\u201d Little did the band, especially frontman <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/chris-daughtry\/\" id=\"auto-tag_chris-daughtry\" data-tag=\"chris-daughtry\">Chris Daughtry<\/a>, know how relevant that song would be two years later \u2014 which Daughtry made clear on social media last week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tFor months, social media sites, Facebook in particular, have been deluged with <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/ai-photos-classic-rock-bob-dylan-ozzy-osbourne-1235403847\/\">fake AI photos and memes of rock stars<\/a> supposedly visiting each other in hospitals, embarking on tours that don\u2019t exist, and <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/charlie-kirk-springsteen-dylan-fake-ai-memes-1235428685\/\">paying tribute to deceased celebrities<\/a> onstage. At least one major artist hired a company to scour the internet for such posts and have them taken down.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tNot wanting to draw more attention to the trend, artists themselves have largely refrained from comment\u2014 until now. In September, Micky Dolenz alerted his fans to \u201cAI-generated nonsense\u201d in a <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/100044344303295\/videos\/micky-look-out-for-fake-news\/1583479946354488\/\">video<\/a>. Last week, Bonnie Raitt posted a lengthy statement that listed all the fraudulent information making the social media rounds: \u201cBonnie is not doing a \u2018farewell tour or releasing a \u2018farewell album,\u2019\u201d nor, she wrote, is she playing a Christmas show at Rockefeller Center in New York or appearing at Turning Point USA\u2019s \u201cAll-American Half-Time Show.\u201d In a sign of how wild this disinformation can be, Raitt also had to clarify that her brother \u201cwas not a victim of the tragic UPS plane crash in Louisville on November 4, 2025\u201d and \u201cis not in a Twitter spat with White House Press Secretary Karoline Levitt.\u201d \u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tLate last week, Chris Daughtry became the latest and most vocal musician to call attention to the fakes. In a <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DRAg4Z_j1F3\/\">video posted<\/a> on his socials, a clearly anguished Daughtry declared \u201cenough is enough\u201d about \u201cfake bullshit news.\u201d Displaying examples of some of those fake posts \u2014 in which he supposedly had a fight with his wife, visited a country legend in the hospital, trashed newly elected New York mayor Zohran Mamdani, and announced tours with Bon Jovi and a hip-hop crew \u2014 Daughtry urged fans to not repost or respond to any of them. And at first I could laugh it off. Apparently, my wife was pregnant with twins again, and she\u2019s had a full hysterectomy [laughs]. Apparently, I was visiting Dolly Parton in the hospital. She would be like, \u201cChris Daughtry \u2014 who\u2019s that?\u201d You could shrug it off and say, \u201cWell, that\u2019s just nonsense.\u201d A lot of people that were sending it to me, including friends of mine. And I\u2019m just like, \u201cCome on, guys, why are you sending this to me? Instead of doing that, just report the page.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t<strong>In one of them, you were also supposedly part of a hip-hop supergroup.<\/strong><br \/>Yeah, we\u2019re doing a \u201clast tour,\u201d with Eminem, Dr. Dre, and Rihanna. And by the way, that would be an amazing tour! Although I guarantee that that fan base wouldn\u2019t want anything to do with us. But maybe I\u2019m wrong. It\u00a0could be a nice, nice little amalgamation of different styles that could\u00a0be fun.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t<strong>In another example, you were shown on a fake poster fo the alternate Super Bowl halftime show organized by Turning Point USA.<\/strong><br \/>Yeah, and donating millions to Turning Point, all that stuff. It\u2019s ridiculous. And by the way, I think it\u2019s incredible that Bad Bunny is doing the halftime show. That\u2019s what representation looks like. Music should reflect the diversity and the beauty of the world we live in.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tBut it\u2019s frustrating. You see these \u2018\u2019quotes,\u201d so to speak, and headlines that are diametrically opposed to your own values, views, and beliefs. I certainly don\u2019t stand with MAGA, Charlie Kirk, Turning Point or any other movement rooted in bigotry or intolerance or\u00a0exclusivity. So when it starts lumping me into these groups that do not align with my values and the things I stand for and where my heart is, it affects me on a deep level. I don\u2019t want anyone out there believing that. When it starts to step on or completely contradict things you stand for, that\u2019s when it hurts the most.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t<strong>What made you decide to film and post that video on your socials? \u00a0<\/strong><br \/>I went against my manager\u2019s wishes. He was like, \u201cYou don\u2019t want to be feeding this machine or drawing more attention to it.\u201d And I was like, \u201cFuck that.\u201d I want everyone to know this is absolute bullshit, and I will shout it from the mountain tops. And that was why I recorded the video. I don\u2019t know. But at least I feel like a weight is off my shoulders putting that out there. We wrote this song \u201cArtificial\u201d because we saw this stuff coming. We didn\u2019t realize how bad it was going to get. I think there\u2019s incredible uses for AI.
