Daniel Craig<\/a> was Rian Johnson<\/a>\u2019s dream choice to play Benoit Blanc<\/a> in \u201cKnives Out<\/a>.\u201d But it nearly wasn\u2019t meant to be.<\/p>\n

In an interview with IndieWire<\/a>, Johnson<\/a> talked about his latest (and hopefully not final) film in the \u201cKnives Out<\/a>\u201d series: \u201cWake Up Dead Man<\/a>.\u201d Craig returns in the film as masterful, Southern detective Blanc \u2014 though a \u201cJames Bond\u201d scheduling conflict nearly kept this actor\/character union from happening.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen we were first trying to get \u2018Knives Out<\/a>\u2019 made, Daniel wasn\u2019t available. He was doing the \u2018Bond\u2019 movies,\u201d Johnson revealed. \u201cHe was my first choice for it, but he was a hard \u2018not available\u2019 because he was on the Bond movies.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
