A new Harry Potter <\/a>is set to walk the hallowed halls of Hogwarts, and Daniel Radcliffe has his own special brand of magic to pass on to the young wizard. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Radcliffe, known as \u201cthe boy who lived\u201d in the \u201cHarry Potter\u201d film series, has long completed his time at the school of witchcraft and wizardry. Now, he\u2019s handing the mantle to 11-year-old Dominic McLaughlin \u2014 who\u2019s starring on the HBO adaptation of J.K. Rowling\u2019s book series and happens to be the same age Radcliffe was when he began his magical journey. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n During a Tuesday appearance on \u201cGood Morning America,\u201d<\/a> the actor was asked whether he had received a call from McLaughlin, prompting him to speak about his connection to the cast and production.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cI know a few people that are working on the production,\u201d Radcliffe said right before noting that he\u2019d written to McLaughlin. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cI wrote to Dominic,\u201d he continued. \u201cI sent him a letter and he sent me a very sweet note back.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n The actor went on to say that he doesn\u2019t want his legacy to loom over the new generation of witches and wizards.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cI do not want to be, like, a specter in the lives of these children at all,\u201d he said. \u201cI just wanted to write to him and say, \u2018I hope you have the best time and an even better time than I did.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n He concluded by saying he had a \u201cgreat time\u201d filming the magical film series. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cMy understanding is that they\u2019re trying to very much start fresh, and I\u2019m sure whoever is making them will want to make their own mark on it and probably not want to have to figure out how to get old Harry to cameo in this somewhere,\u201d he said at the time. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Celebrate<\/span>Truth<\/span>This Season<\/span><\/p>\n Your Support<\/span>Fuels<\/span>Our Mission<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Your Support<\/span>Fuels<\/span>Our Mission<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n The holidays can get loud.
