Pop star, Jessie J, revealed she felt she had to give the
\nPrincess of Wales a huge hug after the two met following this
\nyear\u2019s Royal Variety Performance.<\/p>\n

The singer wrapped her arms around the Princess as they came
\nface to face behind the scenes at the Royal Albert Hall<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Jessie J, said she had wanted to reach out to Kate over their
\nshared experiences. In June, the singer was diagnosed with breast
\ncancer. She has surgery and how knows she needs another
\noperation.<\/p>\n

The star said to the Princess that \u2018\u201cI just want to give you a
\nhug, cancer really puts life into perspective.\u201d The two then shared
\na warm hug and chatted more.<\/p>\n

Kate had last attended the Royal Variety Performance, held every
\nyear to help raise money to support former performers who need
\nhelp, in 2023 just weeks before being admitted to hospital for
\nmajor abdominal surgery which was quickly followed by her own
\ncancer diagnosis. The Princess of Wales has since announced she has
\nfinished chemotherapy.<\/p>\n

The Prince and Princess of Wales looked thrilled to be back at
\nthe glittering event which has been a staple of the royal year for
\nover a century.<\/p>\n

The couple both chose velvet for this evening out in chilly
\nLondon with the Princess in a fitted, full length green dress with
\noff the shoulder detail. Her husband went for a black velvet
\nevening jacket as part of his suit.<\/p>\n

Ahead of the performance, the Princess of Wales was presented
\nwith a bouquet of flowers by twins \u00a0Emelie and Olivia Edwards
\nwho have family who work at the Royal Variety Charity\u2019s residential
\nhome, Brinsworth House. Some of the blooms in the posy had been
\npicked there earlier in the day. The nine year olds chatted with
\nKate about one of the stars of the Royal Variety Show,
\nPaddington.<\/p>\n

The bear from Peru took to the stage along with the cast of
\nPaddington the Musical and afterwards posed for photos with the
\nPrince and Princess, cementing his links to the Royal Family. In
\n2022, Queen Elizabeth II famously appeared in a sketch with
\nPaddington as part of her Platinum Jubilee celebrations.<\/p>\n

Prince William appeared to be following in his grandmother\u2019s
\nfootsteps as
\nhe spoke to Paddington<\/a> about marmalade sandwiches. During the
\nJubilee sketch, Queen Elizabeth II revealed that the long
\nmysterious contents of her famous handbag were, in fact, marmalade
\nsandwiches.<\/p>\n

The Royal Variety Performance also included turns from Sir
\nStephen Fry, who later found out that the Prince and Princess of
\nWales, along with their three children, had followed Celebrity
\nTraitors with interest, like just about every other TV watcher in
\nthe country.<\/p>\n

The show was hosted by Jason Manford and also included a special
\nperformance from the cast of Les Miserables as the show celebrates
\n40 years on the London stage.<\/p>\n
