Meghan Markle<\/a> has been accused by a royal commentator of \u201cirritating\u201d other royals through her most recent move. The Duchess of Sussex, 44, has appeared on Harper’s BAZAAR<\/a> after taking part in a new interview.<\/p>\n

While many have praised the Duchess online, others have been quick to criticise her, especially as she continues to insist on being called the Duchess of Sussex – a title she still holds, despite not being a working royal. This is something that royal commentator and biographer Angela Levin has claimed Meghan does to irritate other members of the Royal Family.<\/a><\/p>\n

Sharing a post about Meghan\u2019s latest article on X, Levin wrote: \u201cIt’s her way of irritating other royals. She walked out of being a royal six years ago, but she’s still desperate to be something, but just can’t do it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

While some people have criticised the fact Meghan still uses her duchess title, this is something she is entitled to do despite not being a working royal since 2020.<\/p>\n

This is because Meghan and Harry were granted the titles The Duke and Duchess of Sussex<\/a> when they wed in 2018<\/a> by the late Queen Elizabeth II.<\/p>\n

This is a title that has not been taken away from them, and can only be taken away by a monarch.<\/p>\n

The title is also believed to be important for Meghan as she once claimed the Sussex title was something she had in common<\/a> with her children, with the family using Sussex almost like a surname.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Earlier this year, the duchess told People magazine<\/a>: \u201cIt\u2019s our shared name as a family, and I guess I hadn\u2019t recognized how meaningful that would be to me until we had children.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love that that is something that Archie, Lili, H and I all have together. It means a lot to me,<\/p>\n

\u201cI think as the kids get older, they\u2019re so excited about, \u2018Oh my gosh, Mama and Papa, how did you meet?\u2019 I think that will come with time as they get older, but for right now a huge part of our love story is that we share the name Sussex.\u201d<\/p>\n

It is unlikely Harry and Meghan will have their Sussex title taken from them.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
