Los Angeles-based music technology company KLAY Vision Inc. has closed separate AI licensing deals with Universal Music Group<\/a>, Universal Music Publishing Group<\/a>, Sony Music Entertainment<\/a> (SME), Sony Music Publishing<\/a>, Warner Music Group<\/a>, and Warner Chappell Music<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to a press release issued on Thursday (November 20), these agreements \u201cestablish terms on which KLAY will help further evolve music experiences for fans, leveraging the potential of AI, while fully respecting the rights of artists, songwriters, and rightsholders\u201d.<\/p>\n

The company states that it is developing an AI music platform that \u201creimagines listening with immersive, interactive tools,\u201d powered by KLAY\u2019s Large Music Model, which, according to the announcement, is \u201ctrained entirely on licensed music.\u201d<\/p>\n

KLAY says that it has been working with key parties in the music industry for more than a year \u201cto build an innovative and comprehensive licensing framework for an AI-driven music experience\u201d.<\/p>\n

The company said that it is currently expanding its efforts to include \u201call independent labels, artists, publishers, and songwriters in this framework\u201d, with the aim to create \u201ca scalable foundation for the industry at large\u201d.<\/p>\n

KLAY\u2019s leadership team includes Ary Attie (Founder & CEO; musician), Thomas Hesse (Co-Founder & Chief Content and Commercial Officer; former President, Global Digital Business & US Sales & Distribution, Sony Music Entertainment), Bj\u00f6rn Winckler (Chief AI Officer; former leader of Google<\/a> DeepMind\u2019s music initiatives), and Brian Whitman (Chief Technology Officer; former Principal Scientist at Spotify<\/a> and Founder of The Echo Nest).<\/p>\n
