HBO\u2019s The White Lotus<\/em> is saying \u201cbonjour\u201d to France for the fourth season of the star-studded drama.<\/p>\n HBO and HBO Max chairman and CEO Casey Bloys confirmed the location during Thursday\u2019s HBO Max programming slate presentation in New York.<\/p>\n More from The Hollywood Reporter<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s going to be in France,\u201d Bloys said, indicating season four wasn\u2019t too far along yet. \u201cMike [White] is writing and just starting.\u201d Bloys added that White is also \u201cvery, very early\u201d in the casting process.<\/p>\n The reveal follows months of reports and speculation about the Gallic location of the fourth season.<\/p>\n Showrunner Mike White, who took time between seasons to revisit his reality TV past on Survivor<\/em>, \u201cjust wouldn\u2019t want to be in the cold,\u201d The White Lotus<\/em> producer David Bernad previously told The Hollywood Reporter<\/em> as part of a White Lotus<\/em> cover story<\/a> ahead of the season three finale. \u201cHe hates it.\u201d<\/p>\n White also previously indicated he\u2019d stay away from the French capital as something like Paris, he said, would feel \u201clike a cop-out.\u201d<\/p>\n On the official White Lotus<\/em> podcast after the season three finale, White also indicated he might depart from the beachside resorts of the past three seasons in Hawaii, Italy and Thailand. He said he\u2019d \u201cwant to get a little bit out of the crashing waves of rocks vernacular.\u201d<\/p>\n On the red carpet for the 2025 Emmys, season three actress Parker Posey said that White wasn\u2019t at the awards show because he was scouting locations in France. Speaking about those remarks to THR<\/em> after the ceremony<\/a>, Bloys joked, \u201cWell, if she said it, I will have to agree with her.\u201d<\/p>\n In all seriousness, he indicated it was too early to speculate. \u201cBeyond that, locations, anything like that, there\u2019s nothing official [to say],\u201d he said. \u201cBut Mike has got ideas that he\u2019s working on, and I think it\u2019s going to be great.\u201d<\/p>\n Bloys added that White was \u201cnarrowing it down.\u201d<\/p>\n Bernad also told THR<\/em> over the summer<\/a> that though he couldn\u2019t share anything specific about season four, he was \u201cvery excited for what Mike is working on and thinking about.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI think it\u2019s going to speak to culture in a way that [\u2026] is going to be relevant,\u201d Bernad said. \u201cI don\u2019t want to say too much [other than] I know what it is and where it\u2019s going, and it\u2019s really exciting and I think people will be happy about the direction of season four.\u201d<\/p>\n Meanwhile, White superfans can watch his Survivor<\/em> return for the all-star 50th season Feb. 25 on CBS.<\/p>\n Best of The Hollywood Reporter<\/strong><\/p>\n Sign up for THR’s Newsletter<\/a>.
