Robyn<\/a> kick-started her one-off show at L.A.\u2019s Fonda Theatre on Wednesday night with a supremely appropriate song choice: \u201cMissing U.\u201d<\/p>\n More from Billboard<\/strong><\/p>\n After all, it\u2019s been more than six years since the Swedish dance-pop icon mounted a full-length concert, so the 2018 Honey<\/em> lead single\u2019s lyrics \u201cThere\u2019s this empty space you left behind\u201d equally spoke to both the eager fans and to the performer who\u2019s only popped up onstage for an occasional guest appearance or two-to-three-song set since 2019.<\/p>\n But Wednesday\u2019s Spotify x Acne Studios concert wasn\u2019t completely out of the blue: Last week, Robyn returned with \u201cDopamine,\u201d<\/a> her first new music since Honey<\/em>, and during the unexpectedly robust 15-song set, she performed for the first time the pulsing ode to trusting your body\u2019s chemical urges. The crowd made sure to cheer extra loud at the end of that special one, leaving Robyn with a shy smile and shaking her head in disbelief at the warm reception less than a week after the song\u2019s release.<\/p>\n And while she played her newest song on Wednesday night, Robyn didn\u2019t reach all the way back to her \u201990s pop origins to play her oldest, instead going as far back as 2002\u2019s \u201cBlow Your Mind\u201d and playing hits and fan favorites from her self-titled 2007 reintroduction album (\u201cBe Mine!,\u201d \u201cCobrastyle,\u201d \u201cWith Every Heartbeat\u201d), her 2010 Body Talk<\/em> opus (\u201cCall Your Girlfriend,\u201d \u201cDon\u2019t F\u2014ing Tell Me What to Do,\u201d \u201cHang With Me\u201d) and her more recent album Honey<\/em> (\u201cEver Again,\u201d \u201cBetween the Lines,\u201d title track), as well as highlights from her collaborative work with fellow Swedes R\u00f6yksopp and La Bagatelle Magique.<\/p>\n Another Body Talk<\/em> showstopper was \u201cDancing on My Own,\u201d thanks to Robyn letting the crowd take the wheel for the song\u2019s first cathartic chorus, of which they gamely belted out every word. Instead of attempting to restart the chorus, Robyn just went on to the second verse and kept the mass dance party grooving.
