There might only be less than 5 weeks to go until Christmas but the new music keeps coming and we\u2019ve got another ten tracks to add to our Discovery playlist on Spotify and Apple Music. Our Track of the Week is \u201cSuddenly Your Mind\u2019s A Fortress\u201d from WA bedroom-pop duo Coco Elise<\/b>.<\/p>\n
The gorgeous track is from their new EP Lilly\u2019s Gallery <\/i>which released this week. The duo of Josh Ellis<\/strong> & Isaiah Quintana<\/strong> have the soft rock dialled right up on this one \u2013 the vibe is sophisticated and chilled out \u2013 with some lovely, hushed horns and captivating vocals. It might be something of a shock if you\u2019ve only ever experienced the duo live; where the live performance is often far from relaxed.<\/p>\n If you want to discover that for yourself they\u2019re launching the EP at Fremantle\u2019s iconic Mojo\u2019s Bar<\/a> on December 19th. Perfect for getting into the holiday spirit!<\/p>\n Next on the playlist we have \u201cDr Gold\u201d, the new single from Melbourne \u2018space folk\u2019 singer-songwriter Joshua Seymour<\/b>. Recorded in Melbourne with long-time friend and producer Nick Finch<\/b>, the track is from Seymour\u2019s forthcoming album Home Is Not A Place<\/i>. It\u2019s more synth-heavy than you might expect from a folk singer-songwriter, but then.. that\u2019s where the space comes in we guess. It\u2019s an austere but captivating track, with Seymour\u2019s vocal (there\u2019s a Leon Russell flavour there) really holding your attention across the track\u2019s 5 minute run time. Seymour will be launching the single at The Old Bar in Fitzroy next Friday. Tickets are available HERE<\/a>.<\/p>\n In the wake of the devastating news that the much loved Mani<\/strong> from The Stone Roses<\/strong> and Primal Scream<\/strong> has passed away, we\u2019ve added tracks from two of the brightest from the north of England this week. \u201cSWEET HEROINE\u201d is the latest from STONE.<\/strong> They are on the countdown to the release of their sophomore album, AUTONOMY<\/em>, out 20th Feb 2026. They have relentless energy and this is an absolute banger. They are super busy on the socials, so catch them on Instagram<\/a> and become part of their community.<\/p>\n Also from the north of England is Manchester\u2019s fast-rising teenage trailblazers Florentenes, <\/strong>who have have dropped \u201cThink Twice\u201d, a soaring indie anthem that pushes their sound into a sharper, more anthemic gear. They worked with legendary producer Dave Eringa<\/strong> (Manic Street Preachers, Jamie Webster, The Who) on this one, and it oozes raw, live-wire intensity\u2014jagged riffs, melodic bite, and a vocal performance that threads the emotional end of a relationship through both hopeful and cynical perspectives. Barely a year out of school, the four-piece have already built a reputation for electrifying live shows and short, sharp shocks of guitar music that feel urgent again.<\/p>\n Naarm\/Melbourne-via-Belgium artist Romanie<\/strong> returns this week with \u201cI Won\u2019t Yell\u201d, a gritty, punk-flecked detour from her earlier indie-folk beginnings. Originally written years ago as a folk tune, the track was reshaped in Sydney alongside Adam Hyde (Peking Duk, Keli Holiday) and Tom Stell (Golden Features), who flipped the arrangement into a sharp, electrifying anthem. Fans of Wet Leg or The Beaches will find plenty to love here\u2014urgent guitars, raw edges, and Romanie\u2019s unmistakable lyrical bite. We love the way the track builds \u2013 it\u2019s gripping and entertaining.<\/p>\n Also added to the playlist this week is \u201cDon\u2019t Let It Get You Down\u201d, the latest single from writer, poet and artist Joshua Idehen<\/b>. The track is the latest to be released from his debut album \u2013 I Know You\u2019re Hurting, Everyone Is Hurting, Everyone Is Trying, You Have Got To Try <\/i>\u2013 which is out March 6th on Heavenly Records. \u201cDon\u2019t Let It Get You Down\u201d is joyful, empowering, \u2018strobe flecked\u2019 house music. As the press release puts it \u2013 \u201cit\u2019s music to make you feel good, no matter how good you\u2019re already feeling.\u201d We can\u2019t argue with that. It\u2019s a vibe!<\/p>\n Family-based trio Favourite Kid<\/strong> release their debut album 2 Cents Journal<\/em> today, with \u201cVulnerable Lane\u201d standing as the record\u2019s focus track. We\u2019ve also published their track-by-track<\/a> feature on the AU review, offering deeper insight into the album. Leaning further into their country-pop sensibilities, the song pairs warm fiddle runs with a driving, upbeat rhythm that lifts their open-hearted lyricism and effortless melodic charm. A standout moment from the album, it introduces a fresh and fully formed new voice.<\/p>\n Finally, also added to the playlist this week is the shimmering and empowering \u201cPuna Ora\u201d from Te Tiriti-based duo Aro<\/b>; and \u201cEasy Peeler\u201d the nostalgic new single from German indie rocker Brockhoff<\/b>. \u00a0We\u2019ve also added \u201cNot Not Another Fool\u201d from Laura Ingram<\/strong>, which we premiered earlier in the week.<\/span><\/p>\n Catch all the new music updated every Friday on Apple Music:<\/p>\n
